Shes not referring to Nick. -Not really. This is my first official appearance since I won. -Arent you worried that youre life will change now? - I think I can cope. Besides it hasnt really sunk in yet that I won. I guess it will once I get to recording. -Are you looking forward to that? -Yes I really am. Im going to write some of the songs myself. So Im really excited to see how it will turn out. -You will have to work with strangers for a long time though. -Not entirely. I made them change my contract a bit. -What do you mean? -I get to choose my own band members. -Thats a first. Can I be in it? -No offensebut no. You cant even play an instrument. -I can learn. -You kinda sound like a truck crashing into bus stop. Besides you have a great thing going here for yourself. -Well I was getting old, I needed to get my life together. -Old? Youre only 19. -Enough about me. Is anyone going to feature on your record? -Like who? -Like our next guests. The Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato. -Well I dont know if theyll be on my record. I dont know Demi that well. -But you know the guys? -Yes, I met them last year when I lived in America for a while. Theyre my friends. At first I didnt know they were famous. -How did you find out? -Tabloid. I normally dont read those. But they showed it to me at school. Maybe I should now to keep up with the gossip on me. -Or maybe you dont want to know. -Maybe. I smiled. -Anyway. Maybe we should bring them out here. Youve seen them perform earlier so please welcome the Jonas Brothers. Also with them is there Camp Rock co-star Demi Lovato. They came out and Joe sat down next to me. Nick sat down next to Joe followed by Demi and Kevin. -So you are here to promote your new movie. How do you like Europe so far. -Its great. Weve been to Paris and London and all kinds of beautiful European places. But were really glad we get to spend some extra days in Belgium. I think Im going to stock up on chocolate before we go back. Joe said. I laughed. -Can you tell us a little more about Camp Rock? -Well, I play a girl named Mitchie and she wants to go to this music camp but her parents cant afford it. But her mom gets a job as the camp cook so Mitchie can go. But she has to help in the kitchen. Demi said. -You have to sing in it to, dont you? -Yes I do. It was fun. I really love singing. -And what are your roles. -I play a pop star thats been acting out. So he gets send to camp. He meets Mitchie and he falls in love with her. Joe said. -So you sing in the movie as well, Kevin? I cleared my throat loudly and mouthed Joe to her. -Joe. She corrected herself. -Yes I do. Actually Im in a band. Kevin and Nick play the other band members. -Do you think this movie will help you break though in Europe? -Well we hope so. Nick said. Lola stared at him for a moment. Then she looked at me. -Hes cute. She telepathically told me. I nodded. So maybe you should sing on Ellies record. She already has fans in Belgium and some neighbouring countries. It might help. -Dont exaggerate Lola. I mumbled. -We would love to work with Ellie. Kevin said. -Well were nearing the end of the show. And its time for our viewer calls. Timi Yuro 'Only You' a track from The cd "All alone am I" was Timi's huge come back in 1981 in The Netherlands, rushed to the top of the charts, giving Timi a triple platinium lp and two top singles,"Hurt" and "All alone am I". This vinyl lp brought Timi Yuro from nearly forgotten obscurity to major stardom in The Netherlands. NOTE: (Summary) According to an article "Don't ever give up!" written by Timi Yuro. Timi first started singing in public at her parents' restaurant, one day one of the customers heard Timi singing in the kitchen, he yelled through the swinging doors. "Come out here and let us hear some of that stuff!" so Timi made her debut, so to speak, straight from the kitchen sink. In high school, Timi started singing with a group. One boy was named Troy Walker, and soon they were doing duets. the duets led to an occasional solo for Timi. one of her first songs she sang was Hurt, that finally got her started as a professional. (Hurt was always number one of her personal hit parade) published usa - written by Timi Yuro Unfortunately, the year 1960 brought Timi Yuro little but frustration. Liberty's A&R staff tried cutting demo's with her, but nothing seemed to work. However, Al Bennet believed in her, and he asked her what kind of songs she would like to record. She broke into the pop standard "Hurt" and the staff stunned by her talent. Usually the story ends there, with the song being rushed-released; an instant hit. An interesting addendum to the legend was later revealed by Timi. She told that Liberty was not completely sold on the finished recording of "Hurt". Her goals frustrated once again, she rebelliously made an acetate dub of "Hurt"and brought it to a Chicago disc jockey. The d.j immidiately played it as a "pick hit".Liberty was not all pleased with this turn of events. It was when the radio stations began calling up to ask for the record that the label realized it had a potential smash. Due credit for the succes of "Hurt" must go to the song's producer, Clyde Otis. The Platters formed in Los Angeles 1953the group had found little succes before meeting entrepreneur and songwriter Buck Ram. Under Ram's guidance, The Platters recorded 7 singles. One song 'Only You' originally written by Ram for The Ink Spots was deemed unreleasable. Convinced by Jean Bennett and Tony Williams that 'Only You' had potential, Ram had The Platters re-record the song in 1955, it became the groups first Top Ten Hit on the pop charts.
