Descrição do Vídeo: U.S. President Bush laid the blame for recent fighting in Gaza squarely at the feet of Hamas, accusing militants of waging a campaign of violence against Israel with little regard for its people. "Since Hamas' violent takeover in the summer of 2007, living conditions have worsened for Palestinians in Gaza," Bush says in prepared remarks released Friday by the White House. "By spending its resources on rocket launchers instead of roads and schools, Hamas has demonstrated that it has no intention of serving the Palestinian people." In a radio address to air Saturday, Bush says Hamas committed an act of terrorism when it renewed rocket attacks into Israel last month, provoking this week's airstrikes by Israel. "In response to these attacks on their people, the leaders of Israel have launched military operations on Hamas positions in Gaza," Bush says. "As a part of their strategy, Hamas terrorists often hide within the civilian population, which puts innocent Palestinians at risk." President-elect Barack Obama is said to be monitoring the situation. He has been in contact with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Hillary Clinton, the nominee for secretary of state. The president of the U.N. General Assembly blasted Israel's ground assault into Gaza on Saturday and criticized the actions of the U.N. Security Council. "I think it's a monstrosity; there's no other way to name it," Miguel D'escoto Brockmann of Nicaragua said Saturday when asked about the Israeli incursion launched just hours before. "Once again, the world is watching in dismay the disfunctionality of the Security Council." Earlier Saturday, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon expressed concern over the start of the ground offensive, saying it complicates the international community's efforts to achieve a cease-fire between the Jewish state and Hamas. Ban "conveyed his extreme concern and disappointment" to Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, a spokesman for the secretary-general said. "He is convinced and alarmed that this escalation will inevitably increase the already heavy suffering of the affected civilian populations." Ban renewed his call for an immediate cease-fire and condemned the continued rocket attacks by Hamas. After a week of pounding Gaza with airstrikes, Israeli troops rolled into Gaza on Saturday night, launching the second phase of an offensive meant to end rocket attacks staged in the Hamas-ruled territory. The incursion happened just hours after the European Union announced that a delegation is heading to the Middle East to meet with leaders from the region and seek a Gaza cease-fire. A broader Middle East "Quartet" -- consisting of the European Union, the United States, the United Nations and Russia -- is also trying to broker a truce. "Today's developments complicate the efforts of the Quartet and others to end the violence," Ban's spokesman said. A statement from the French government conveyed a similar message, saying the ground assault "complicated the efforts" of the European Union, the Quartet, France and others seeking an immediate cease-fire. Earlier, chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will meet with the EU delegation Monday in Ramallah, West Bank. Abbas then plans to head to New York for meetings at the United Nations, Erekat said. Monday's meeting will include members of the European Union leadership and French President Nicolas Sarkozy, whose country just finished a six-month EU presidency. The Czech Republic, which took over the role from France, will lead the delegation, the Czech presidency said. The officials will try to start a dialogue between the EU and Middle East to look for ways of re-establishing armistice in Gaza, the Czech presidency said. They will also be looking for ways to provide humanitarian aid to people in Gaza. Bruno Seidler-Winkler Munich witnessed virtually all 42 seasons of an heroic baritone who was not anxious to sing abroad. He did not even seek to compete for Bayreuth's favour with either Schorr or Bockelmann; but it was Nissen who sang Sachs for Toscanini in Salzburg in '36 and '37. HHN was a German operatic bass-baritone, particularly associated with Wagner roles, one of the leading Wotan and Hans Sachs of the inter-war period. He studied in Berlin with Julius Raatz-Brockmann, and made his debut at the Berlin Volksoper, as Kalif in Der Barbier von Bagdad, in 1924. He joined the Munich State Opera in 1925, where he remained until 1967, and was a regular guest at the Bayreuth Festival, where he quickly established himself as a leading Wagnerian. Beginning in 1928, he made guest appearances outside Germany, singing at the Royal Opera House in London, the Paris Opera, the Vienna State Opera, the Salzburg Festival, La Monnaie in Brussels, La Scala in Milan, the Liceo in Barcelona. He made his American debut at the Lyric Opera of Chicago in 1930, and at the New York Metropolitan Opera in 1938. Vorher: ?Ich will nur einmal hinten mitfahren - Durch die Auktion hat sich vieles verändert. Ich wollte mich eigentlich nur über die Abendveranstaltung des MSC-Löhne auf deren Internetseite erkundigen und stolperte über den Link zur e-Bay-Auktion. - Dann der Entschluss mitzubieten, unerwartet gewonnen und gedacht: ?Auch du Sch was hast du jetzt gemacht! - Zu spät! Jetzt musst du da durch!. - Ich hatte vorher das Gefühl, dass das was ich mir eingebrockt hatte nicht gut enden würde. - Es kam alles, auch für mich überraschend, anders. Zwei Dinge habe ich dann noch zum Schluss gelernt. Das Eine ist, dass man bei einer gelben Flagge nicht anfangen muss zu schleichen (In der letzten Runde bin langsam geworden als ich am "Dackel" vorbeigefahren bin, denn ich wusste in dem Moment wirklich nicht was ich machen muss Ich wollte auf keinen Fall disqualifiziert werden.- Hat zum Glück aber gerade noch gereicht.) und das Andere ist, dass man den Rennanzug nicht hinten mit dem Klettband verschließt. Am Sonntagabend hatte ich dann noch den Aufnahmeantrag für den MSC unterschrieben, da man mich ohne nicht gehen lassen wollte. Erst mal mit dem Ziel nicht selbst zu fahren, sondern mit den netten Leuten des MSC und der Cross-Scene in Kontakt zu bleiben. - Auf der Helferparty wurde ich dann kurzerhand in das Rennteam von Michael Wandrey als Fahrer aufgenommen. - Ja, ich bin nun auch dem Cross verfallen und in der nächsten Saison auf der Langstrecke mit unserem Audi 80 dabei. Unser Ziel ist es einfach nur im Ziel anzukommen und Spaß zu haben. Ich möchte mich hiermit nochmals ganz herzlich bei allen (bei den MSC-Mitgliedern, dem Autohaus Langner und besonders bei Manfred Brockmann) bedanken, die mich unterstützt und dieses damit erst möglich gemacht haben. Ohne diese Auktion hätte ich wohl mit ziemlicher Sicherheit mit diesem Sport niemals angefangen. - Ich freue mich auf die nächste Saison und weiß auch, dass es nicht so reibungslos weitergehen wird. Vittorio, com'è la situazione al momento, a Gaza? "Gli F16 israeliani stanno bombardando dalle 11,30 di questa mattina. E' una vera carneficina: sono già 200 le vittime. Hanno tirato giù due palazzine di civili, vicino a casa mia, nella zona del porto. Stanno ammazzando poliziotti e cittadini". Qui i nostri tg e i siti dei nostri quotidiani stanno raccontando che sono in corso bombardamenti contro "basi terroristiche"... "Balle! Che vergogna! Stanno ammazzando poveri cristi, poliziotti, altro che terroristi! Non ho mai visto tanta violenza contro Gaza come ora....Hanno attaccato con caccia e con la Marina da guerra". Vi aspettavate questi attacchi? "A dir il vero, no. Ieri, Israele aveva aperto i valichi lasciando entrare qualche rifornimento alimentare...L'ha fatto apposta, così oggi ha potuto prendere alla sprovvista la popolazione, i bambini che uscivano da scuola, i poliziotti che si stavano addestrando per funzioni di sicurezza interna...". Passiamo ora a raccontare ciò che i nostri tg e giornali non scrivono mai: in una settimana, le forze di occupazione-invasione israeliane hanno condotto 25 incursioni contro la Cisgiordania - dove, a giustificazione di tali crimini, non ci sono lanci di razzi della resistenza. La denuncia viene dal PCHR, che sottolinea come gli attacchi israeliani sono diventati "giornalieri", senza per questo attirare l'attenzione dell'opinione pubblica internazionale e dei mezzi di informazione, invece molto sensibili a ogni missile artigianale e generalmente innocuo, lanciato dalla Striscia di Gaza su territorio israeliano. Nell'ultima settimana, inoltre, 18 palestinesi - tra cui 4 minori - sono stati sequestrati dalle forze israeliane, per un totale di 2329 prigionieri rinchiusi dall'inizio dell'anno nelle prigioni di Israele. Richard Falk, della Commissione d'inchiesta sui Diritti Umani nei Territori Palestinesi, ha sollecitato le Nazioni Unite a tradurre la condanna dell'assedio israeliano su Gaza in azioni sul terreno. Falk ha sottolineato che è giunto il tempo per intraprendere un'azione internazionale che ponga fine all'assedio su 1,5 milioni di palestinesi che vivono nella Striscia di Gaza, rimarcando il fatto che la comunità internazionale deve salvare la Striscia di Gaza, ormai sull'orlo di una gravissima "catastrofe umanitaria". L'agenzia Quds Press ha citato il dirigente ONU che affermava che il Segretario generale Ban-Ki-Moon, Miguel d'Escoto Brockmann, presidente dell'Assemblea generale ONU, Navanethem Pillay, Alto Commissario per i Diritti umani, erano preoccupati per la "sofferenza" degli abitanti di Gaza.
