Descrição do Vídeo: Troops advance after taking control of Palai The troops have succeeded in taking control of Palai, another stronghold of the LTTE terrorists. Our Special Representative Ranjith Jayasundera in a report said that troops of the 1st Vijayaba, the 5th Vijayaba, the 5th Gemunu and the 1st Gajaba Regiments achieved this victory.. He pointed out that the advancing troops have arrived at the old army camp premises at Elephant Pass. The troops are already consolidating their positions in the area of the FDL which they controlled when they manned the camp. Troops of the 58th Division achieved this victory under the guidance of Brig. Shavindra Silva, unleashing heavy attacks on LTTE targets. The terrorists while retreating from the area had damaged the buildings of the Elephant Pass Saltern. They had removed all valuable property. Meanwhile, troops which began their advancement from the Jaffna Forward Defence Line succeeded in consolidating their positions in Palai. The troops achieved this victory shattering two LTTE Forward Defence Lines while unleashing heavy attacks on the terrorists.
