Here are some more sounds of train horns from the track behind my house. From some of my other videos, it may be noted that the K-3LA is the most common horn near me. This volume of sounds shows just how common it really is. Many recordings are K-3LAs, but they still do vary in sound. Don't worry, though, there is still a good variation in horns. Below is the list of horn sounds in the video, as well as the points in the video at which the clips begin. 1. A leaving K-3LA that sounds 4 short *toots*, like the one K-5LA in the previous volume. Neat echo too. (beginning) 2. Nathan K-3LA; one of my most favorite leaving horn sounds of a K-3LA. (0:26) 3. A very creepy-sounding K-3LA. It sounds once, then I cut to the time that the full 4-sound sequence sounds. It's weak sound and striking echo make it sound a bit like a steam whistle. (1:04) 4. Nathan K-3LA, also with an echo without the doppler effect like the last one, but not nearly as creepy-sounding. (1:44) 5. Nathan K-3LA coming with a slightly sharp 2 bell. Very similar to a leaving K-3LA in the previous volume. (2:32) 6. Nathan P-124 (P-3), third generation; part of coming sound and all of leaving sound (2:59) 7. Leslie S-3L, leaving; my best S-3L recording yet. Heard at 9 in the evening, very late to hear one on this track. (3:39) 8. Nathan K-5LA, leaving; crisp at first, then slowly decrescendos with a slight echo (4:08) 9. Nathan K-3LA, leaving; a bit more gentle-sounding than previous ones in this volume. (4:32) 10. Nathan K-5LA, leaving; heard in early morning, softer than the last one (#8) (4:58) 11. Fouled Leslie S-3L with 44 bell silent, leaving; I heard horns just like this a number of times after this recording was taken. The lower note is not from the horn. (5:24) 12. Nathan K-3LA leaving; slight brassy sound. (5:47) 13. Nathan K-3LA leaving; softer than the last one. (6:12) 14. Nathan K-3LA, leaving; much louder. (6:37) 15. Nathan P-124 third generation, leaving; a little louder than the last one. (6:58) 16. Nathan K-3LA leaving; very smooth with nice echo. (7:17) 17. Nathan K-3LA coming; the leaving sound wasn't worth posting. (7:46) 18. Nathan K-5LA during the day; 4th sound is strange, not sounding all the way. (8:07) 19. Nathan K-3LA leaving. (8:34) 20. Nathan K-3LA leaving; brassy sound. (8:59) 21. Fouled Leslie RS-3L during the day; 44 bell is silent or slightly squealing. The same train with the same horn returned from the opposite direction just 3 hours after this was taken. I tried recording again, but I didn't hear a leaving horn at all. (9:29) This volume contains the last good recordings of S-3Ls or RS-3Ls that I've taken. Apart from some ones too quiet to post, I haven't heard any since. Now I get RS-5Ts in the daytime, just as common as the S-3L was during the day. This video and all of its contents are my property and not to be used by anyone else.
