Descrição do Vídeo: Narconon of Georgia uses the dangerous and useless sauna detoxification system made up by L. Ron Hubbard. The Oklahoma State Board of Mental Health found that "No scientifically well-controlled independent, long-term outcome studies were found that directly and clearly establish the effectiveness of the Narconon program for the treatment of chemical dependency and the more credible evidence establishes Narconon's program is not effective." Narconon International shares the Los Angeles address and suite number of ABLE (Association for Better Living and Education). ABLE is a well known Scientology front organization. The words "Scientology" and "Dianetics" are carefully avoided in all Narconon promotional literature, and Narconon attempts to present itself as something separate from Scientology and Dianetics, but the curriculum gives the game away. The Narconon "New Life" program is basically an 8 part introduction to Scientology. According to the newspaper Detroit News, Scientology Inc leader L. Ron Hubbard created Narconon and ran it to recruit former addicts into the mob. Courses taught were virtually identical to those offered by the Scientology business and included material packaged as the "Communications Course", the "Study Course", and the "Objectives Course". Michigan Corrections Department psychologist John Hand called Narconon "so misleading as to be termed a 'con.'" Hand said, "They are phony, a front for the 'Church' of Scientology. We found out in Michigan that most of the money that we were paying Narconon was laundered back into the 'Church' of Scientology." In the wake of the revelations, a 1980 prison study concluded that "graduates of the Narconon program do not do as well as our [prison] population in general." Funding for the Narconon program in the prison system was terminated. "What?" whispered Allie, tears filling in her eyes she kept trying to keep them in. "Will she make it till her birthday?" asked Jake, his voice cracked alittle while wrapping his arms around Allie. "I think she's gonna make it till her birthday but that is it. Im terribly sorry." Said the doctor and walked away. Hilary was crying slowly, Allie was fighting back tears and so was Jake, to them steph was like a little sister and losing her was like losing a very close family member. "I guess this means that is it." Said Hilary. "NO! If this birthday is gonna be the last Steph gets then im gonna make it the best in her entire life!" said Allie, she rubbed her eyes alittle then walked back to Steph and little Ricky. Jake smiled as he saw how Allie handled the situation and Hilary noticed. "You love her dont you?" she asked him. "Of course! I've known her all my life and we've been best friends for years and when she agreed to be my girlfriend, I was never happier." Said Jake. "I wouldnt imagine who wouldnt like her." "Arnt you gonna tell her?" asked Hilary watching Allie tickling Steph and Ricky. "I think ill tell her after the whole Steph dieing thing is over, she would do anything to get over it and I know that it would be hard because Allie loves Steph like a baby sister but I know she'll make it, she is strong." With that Jake walked to Ricky and Steph who were laughing at Allie because she was mocking the trainee nurse. "Hey little man!" said Jake. "Jakey!" the little boy ran over to him. "Whoa! Slow down kiddo! So next month you will be 6! Big number! what does it feel like?" Jake asked. Ricky laughed at Jake alittle then answered. "It's gonna be great because I will beat you at wrestling!" "You will be a professional wrestler when you grow up!" said Jake as Ricky started punching his leg. "So, Stephy! 7 tomorrow! How great is that?" asked Allie. "Fabulous! Im gonna have the best birthday ever! And I know you and Jakey and Hilary will be there and that makes it better!" said Steph smiling. "Is there anything you want for your birthday?" asked Allie. "Umwell first I wanted to buy Barbie in the princess and the pauper but you got me it so I have nothing on my list." Said Steph. Steph walked into the nursery where other kids were and when they saw Allie they ran up and tackled her to the ground. She laughed and pulled the box into the room and gave the kids there toys. Steph walked to the TV and opened it to put the CD in but stopped to look at the screen. "Hey what are you watching?" asked Allie finally free from the little kids. Steph said nothing and just pointed at the screen. "Arnt they just cute?" Allie looked at the screen. They were airing Hannah Montana and it was me and Mr. Jonas and Mr. Jonas and Mr. Jonas episode, when Joe was talking about nobody's perfect being there favorite song and if Miley's father could write a song for them. "Who? The Jonasses?" said Allie. "HEY! Dont call them that!" snapped Steph. "Sorry, so you like the Jonass Bro-I mean the Jonas Brothers?" asked Allie. "Like? I LOVE THEM!" she said jumping up and down. "so who is your favorite?" asked Allie in her mind she was thinking: I bet it's Poodle-head! Everyone likes Poodle-head because of his Poodle-head. "I love Joe!" she said. Allie looked at her. "Why? Dont you like Poodle-I mean Nick?" "No, I like Joe, because he is just like you!" said Steph smiling at her. Great, she thinks im just like pretty boy here thought Allie but smiled. Steph sat to watch the Barbie movie with some girls who joined in and some 4 year old boys who were just bored and waiting for Barney. Hilary burst into the room. Descrição do Vídeo: Car Bumper Crashes Are Costly Watch Hummer and other SUVs Crash IIHS: Federal Bumper Standards Should Apply to Light Trucks Cars, SUVs and pickups share the road, but they don't share the same standard for bumpers. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has petitioned the federal government to regulate the bumpers on light trucks (SUVs, pickups, and vans) just as it regulates those on cars. The same bumper rules should apply to all kinds of passenger vehicles. To meet federal rules, car bumpers must be 16 to 20 inches off the ground and limit the amount of damage that can be sustained in a low-speed crash. The idea is to ensure that the bumpers on colliding cars engage, absorbing most of the energy of the impact and keeping damage away from expensive-to-repair parts - like fenders, grilles, headlights, and taillights. Car bumper rules don't apply to light trucks. In fact, it's still legal to sell these vehicles without any bumpers at all. Federal regulators' longstanding thinking is that requiring light trucks to have bumpers would compromise off-road navigation and make it hard to use these vehicles at loading ramps. The Institute counters that putting damage-resistant bumpers on light trucks needn't compromise utility. New SUV-to-car crash test results: A series of low-speed crash tests shows why. The Institute details the results in its petition to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The tests involved 4 midsize SUVs striking the back of a typical midsize car at 10 miles per hour. One of the SUVs - a Ford Explorer - does a better job than 3 others (Hummer H3, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Mitsubishi Endeavor) of resisting damage in low-speed crashes and minimizing damage to the vehicles with which it collides. The front bumpers on the H3, Grand Cherokee, and Endeavor are so high that they overrode the rear bumpers of the stationary Hyundai Sonatas in the Institute tests. Damage to the Sonatas ranged from $3,891 to $4,737. Even the SUVs sustained more than $1,000 damage each. In contrast, the Explorer sustained less than $1,000 damage in the same front-into-rear test, and it inflicted only about one-third as much damage on the Sonata as the worst performer among the 4 SUVs, the H3.
