Descrição do Vídeo: REF. Data: January 8, 2009 Vídeos Relacionados: : breaking Cross Gaza gotcha! Descrição do Vídeo: Diplomatic sources say Western and Arab foreign ministers have agreed in principle on a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. 13 minutes ago AFP - Western and Arab foreign ministers on Thursday agreed on a compromise draft resolution calling for an immediate Gaza ceasefire and decided to put it to a UN Security Council vote, a Palestinian diplomat said. "There's an agreement accepting the amendments of the Arabs," Ryad Mansour, the Palestinian observer to the UN, told reporters. The UN Security Council meanwhile scheduled closed-door consultations for 5 p.m. (2200 GMT) Thursday presumably to hold a vote on the text that reconciles rival drafts proposed by the Arab and Western ministers. Adoption by the 15-member council of the compromise draft, which was sought by Libya on behalf of the Arab UN group, is virtually certain given that the three key Western members -- the United States, Britain and France -- are now onboard. The agreement was announced after four days of intensive bargaining involving British Foreign Secretary David Miliband, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner and several Arab foreign ministers as well as Arab League chief Amr Mussa. Miliband, in agreement with his US and French counterparts, early Thursday presented a new draft resolution to the Arab delegation which had earlier produced its own revised draft demanding an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza. Arab ministers are under public pressure to secure an immediate end to Israel's 13-day military onslaught in Gaza that has killed more than 760 Palestinians. The Arab and Western ministers held several frantic rounds of bargaining that apparently produced the compromise deal. In a key concession to the Arabs, a text circulated by the British delegation earlier Thursday "calls for an immediate, durable and fully respected ceasefire" in Gaza and "for the immediate withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza." An earlier version merely "stressed the need" for an immediate ceasefire. The latest British draft available also "condemns all acts of hostilities and terror directed against civilians" and for "the lifting of the Israeli blockade" of Gaza. --- Video of REUTERS Israel accused by Red Cross Jan 8 - The ICRC says Israel held up ambulances for days while starving children waited for help beside the bodies of their dead mothers. Descrição do Vídeo: A Story Of Dusttin C. Duncan! Dusttin was diagnosed with Leukemia on March 16/17, 2005 and caught it early and in remission as early as April, 2005. Dusttin passed suddenly and unexpectedly on July 21, 2005, Just 4 days after his 6th Birthday.. Very painful and devastating! He was misdiagnosed when he was admitted with a fever and this turned our lives upside down, a nightmare that will forever be with us..... One night after a great day with Dusttin i was preparing Dusttin to bed, getting his pajamas on him and I noticed Dusttin had some bruises on him, he had about 10 little bruises on him the size of my pinky finger nail. I was curious, so i called the health clinic and asked if i should bring him him. They called the doctors and then called me back telling me to bring him into the clinic in the morning. Dusttin and I walked to the clinic the following morning, and we saw a different doctor as my family doctor was not in that day. This doc said to me, in a rude way, all kids bruise.. HE acted like i was bringing in my son for some little normal bruises. Sure all kids bruise, but these bruises did not look like normal ones. They happened to all look the same and had them spread out on him. Doc sent Dusttin for blood work. ' WE did that. The next morning on March 16th i got a call from my family doctor telling me to bring Dusttin to the pediatricians, that his platelets were really really low. And that it could be a possible sign of leukemia. Then and there i freaked out and called Kirk at work, crying and called my sister crying... Told Jonathon we were taking Dusttin to the pediatricians.... I jumped in the shower crying histerically.... Kirk made it home, we took Dusttin up to the pediatricians. She said Dusttin had to be admitted so we could do further testing. Dusttin was happy, he didn't look or act sick. He only had some bruises on him. I did not understand.. I just new it was a nightmare starting of some sort..... I never experienced anything so severe in my life..... We walked to the hospital, which was connected to the pediatricians, and we got Dusttin admitted. They did more blood work, and the doc on call there came and and told me results. She took me into a room and told me that it seems Dusttin has a good chance of having Leukemia. I cried, and cried, and cried...... I went back to the room and hugged my Dusttin in disbelief, I told Kirk, and we made some phone calls. My sister came and took me to her house so i could tell my oldest son Jonathon. I told him and he lost it. Jonathon was 13 turning 14. Our lives were a nightmare, we didn't understand... IT didn't seem real.... I went back home, showered again, got some of Dusttins toys and books, and pillows, our personal hygeine things and headed back to the hospital. Dusttin was playing playstation and what he seemed to be, was happy and not sick... The next morning , St Patricks Day, March 17th 2005...they shipped us to a bigger supposedly better hospital, one that specializes in leukemia etc... An ambulance attendant did some magic tricks all the way there for Dusttin, it was a 45 minute drive. They wheeled Dusttin into this room, kids everywhere with no hair.. I didn't understand, i never saw that before.. I was scared..... My Dusttin was brave and just new he was not well but he didn't understand... I had to ask the nurses to close the curtains because i couldn't handle to look around.. I was feeling sick... I was lost.. I was alone with my son and all these new faces.. They took my son to do a Bone Marrow aspiration, we got the results to find out Dusttin did have Leukemia... Our lives changed.. Our nightmare... Dusttin spent 3 1/2 weeks in the hospital for his first treatments of chemo etc..... Data: January 8, 2009 Vídeos Relacionados: : C. Duncan Dusttin OneTrueMedia | ![]() |

European Green Party calls for safety of Iranian Nobel laureate Rockets from Lebanon hit Israel as Gaza fighting rages Three rockets fired today into northern Israel from Lebanon injured two women, in an attack seen as linked to Israels 13-day-old offensive against Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip. In response, the Israeli army fired shells at the district in Lebanon where the rockets came from. Hamas denied that it had fired the rockets, and Lebanons government said that Hezbollah also assured that it had no involvement in the attack. Israel today sent an envoy to Cairo for talks on an Egyptian-proposed truce plan. Meanwhile, the International Committee of the Red Cross [ICRC] today accused Israel of delaying medical treatment for wounded Palestinians in the Zeitoun area of Gaza City, after ambulances were barred from entering the area for four days. World leaders react to the Gaza crisis Germanys Chancellor Angela Merkel today said that Israeli security was the key to securing a ceasefire. Time is of the essence. Everything must be done to get a quick ceasefire. The key is guarantees for Israels security, particularly an end to weapons smuggling, Merkel said in a joint news conference with Frances President Nicolas Sarkozy in Paris. For his part, Sarkozy told reporters that Germany and France had agreed to make a joint initiative to help promote peace in the Middle East, but he made no mention of the details of their efforts. And at the Vatican today, Pope Benedict condemned the use of violence by Israel and Hamas militants. Once again I would repeat that military options are no solution and that violence, wherever it comes from and whatever form it takes, must be firmly condemned, he said in a speech to diplomats. In Jerusalem, meanwhile, Israels President Shimon Peres warned that Gaza should not become a satellite of Iran, in an interview published today by the Italian daily, La Repubblica. Our goals are clear: we do not want to make Gaza a satellite of Iran, and we dont want a ceasefire but the end of the terror, Peres told the daily, adding: Hamas must stop firing. Also today, Irans supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, called on Muslim governments to respond appropriately to Israels actions in Gaza, and said that Iran would do whatever is necessary to help the Palestinian people. European Green Party calls for safety of Iranian Nobel laureate The European Green Party-European Free Alliance yesterday published a statement voicing concern over recent threats against Iranian Nobel Prize laureate and human rights lawyer, Shirin Ebadi, and called for her law office to be re-opened. The statement read: The recent events are in no way acceptable for us. We call on the ruling authorities in Tehran to guarantee the wellbeing of Ms. Ebadi, to reopen the Center for the Defense of Human Rights in Tehran, and to act on its responsibilities regarding international human rights conventions.
