Descrição do Vídeo: El verdadero rostro de Israel Los criminales bombardeos israelíes contra la población civil en Gaza, que se iniciaron el 27 de diciembre pasado y que han dejado cientos de muertos y miles de heridos, no son sino la continuación de una política deliberada del Estado de Israel de masacrar civiles palestinos incluyendo niños, que ha venido siendo sistemática en los territorios palestinos ocupados desde 1967. La justificación de Israel para llevar a cabo esta ofensiva militar es la amenaza que representa a su seguridad el lanzamiento por parte de Hamas, en el momento actual, de cohetes de muy baja capacidad ofensiva. Dicha justificación no se sostiene, por dos razones principales. La primera es un problema de proporciones. Existe una abismal diferencia entre las víctimas y los daños ocasionados entre las dos partes, la israelí y la palestina: ¿un saldo que no excede una decena de víctimas israelíes en contraste con los más de 500 muertos palestinos, entre ellos decenas de niños, y miles de heridos? ¿Dónde están los hospitales, escuelas, templos y barrios residenciales destruidos en Israel como los hay en Gaza? La segunda razón que por cierto ha sido omitida por los medios de comunicación internacionales es que Israel es la potencia ocupante. Según el derecho internacional, Israel no puede invocar el derecho a la autodefensa en los territorios que ocupa y controla. (Corte Internacional de la Haya, párrafo 139). Hay que recordar además que esta misma Corte máxima instancia judicial de Naciones Unidas, rechazando el pretexto de seguridad israelí, declaró ilegal el muro del apartheid que Israel construye en territorio palestino. Queda claro que la violencia israelí no puede explicarse en términos de su seguridad y autodefensa. Sin embargo, Israel ha logrado con éxito enmarcar el conflicto con los palestinos en este doble discurso y presentarse como la víctima en el concierto internacional, lo que le permite actuar con total impunidad. En el plano jurídico el derecho internacional está del lado palestino: cada año, la Asamblea General de la ONU por mayoría absoluta reconoce a Israel como un país agresor y colonialista que viola la legalidad internacional y los derechos más fundamentales de los palestinos. Sin embargo, en la praxis Israel a pesar de ser el mayor violador de las resoluciones de la ONU y de los derechos humanos es aceptado entre las naciones del mundo, envuelto en el manto de la normalidad. Esto lo ha logrado debido al apoyo de los medios de comunicación, a la formidable industria de relaciones públicas, al temor del fantasma del antisemitismo y, sobre todo, al apoyo incondicional que le brinda Estados Unidos. Al mismo tiempo que Israel comete sus crímenes, mantiene vínculos políticos, diplomáticos, científicos, académicos, etcétera, con todo el mundo. El profesor Michael Neumann de la Universidad de Trent, Canadá, afirma que lo que hace excepcionalmente malo a Israel a diferencia de otros regímenes que también lo son es su capacidad de inspirar respeto a pesar de las atrocidades que públicamente comete contra la humanidad. Es decir, en sus palabras, Israel no sólo comete sus crímenes, sino también los legitima. Se debe apelar a la reflexión de la comunidad internacional en torno a las implicaciones morales de los vínculos con Israel. Es urgente dejar al descubierto su verdadero rostro, a fin de que la opinión pública internacional tenga elementos para contrarrestar la propaganda del régimen sionista de Tel Aviv y lograr detener el genocidio contra el pueblo palestino que se está llevando a cabo en Gaza.
