Descrição do Vídeo: Description: This is what we do when we get bored in Wenatchee. It started out we just wanted to tow the sleds behind my trailblazer, but when the sleds shattered (yay for cheap sleds!) in less than a minute, it put us on a mission. We went to 4 stores looking for sleds and NO one had any. We were just getting ready to leave WalMart when we found these 2 little boards, and the guys snatched them up. We picked up a spotlight as well and headed back up to Jump Off. It was snowing hard that night and there was 4 inches fresh powder on the road. We had so much fun we went back the next night, and the road had been plowed down to about an inch of compact snow, so it was easier for them to board... but it hurt a lot more to crash. Miller opted for a 3-pointer over Redd with 28 seconds left to finish with 28 points, and the Philadelphia 76ers held on for a rare road win Wednesday night, 110-105 over the Milwaukee Bucks. I didnt know what to do, whether to attack the basket or pull up, but I knew I was going to take a shot, said Miller, who also had nine rebounds and six assists. Philadelphia coach Tony DiLeo challenged his team to make at least five 3s after he thought the Sixers were being tentative because they were the worst long-distance shooting team in the NBA. The 76ers entered at 29.5 percent from long range but kept firing, going 8-of-15 from 3-point range against the Bucks. We hit our goal tonight, DiLeo said. Thats what we want. We want them to have the confidence, the freedom, the green light to shoot whenever theyre open. Trailing by eight with just more than 10 minutes to play, the Sixers started taking?and making?their shots from behind the arc. They finished 4-of-6 for the quarter, none bigger than Millers 3 right after Luke Ridnour made it 104-103 with a 3-pointer of his own with 49 seconds to play. Hes unbelievable, DiLeo said of Miller. He sees things out on the court, he runs the team, he knows when to push it and when to pull it out. Miller went down the floor and Redd barely reacted, looking for a pick and expecting a drive when Miller pulled up and answered with his own 3 to push the lead to 107-103. I think I surprised Michael a little bit because the scouting report is that Im not going to shoot the 3-pointer. Its something I work on, but I dont usually take them, Miller said. After Milwaukees Richard Jefferson, who finished with 27 points, added a layup, Andre Iguodala made one of two free throws with 17 seconds to play and Charlie Bell missed an off-balance 3 with seconds to play that wouldve tied it. He got the ball and I wasnt sure what he was trying to do, but I wasnt going to bite on his pump fake, said former Bucks guard Royal Ivey, who often practiced against Bell last season and also hit two 3s to help spark the Sixers earlier in the quarter. He went straight up but I held my ground and the ref saw there was no contact. Iguodala grabbed his fifth rebound and made two more free throws to finish with 20 points and seal the victory, the Sixers second on the road in their last seven tries. It was a great team victory and a great character victory for us, said DiLeo, whose team has won back-to-back games after beating Houston at home on Tuesday night?and four straight over the Bucks. Milwaukee coach Scott Skiles continues to be frustrated with his teams defensive effort, a major emphasis this season by the new coach that the previous two failed to fix. Weve shot the ball well enough to stay in these games but with so many breakdowns were having a hard time overcoming them, Skiles said. They were playing without Elton Brand, Jefferson said. The team that wins the most games when theyre short-handed will be the team that is where they need to be at the end of the season. Descrição do Vídeo: A member of country music's most famous family, Anita Carter found success of her own as a folk solo act during the early '50s and late '60s. The Carter Family had ruled country music during the 1930s, but broke up in 1943 after patriarch A.P. Carter and his ex-wife Sara decided to retire. Sara's cousin Maybelle, the third member of the Carters, re-formed the group the same year -- as Mother Maybelle & the Carter Sisters -- with her daughters Helen, June, and Anita. The sisters had sung on Carter Family radio broadcasts in 1935, and the new group more than made up for the breakup of the originals. The Carters performed on radio from Virginia, Tennessee, and Missouri during the late '40s, but moved to the Grand Ole Opry in 1950. In 1951, Anita stormed the charts with a one-off duet with Hank Snow; both "Bluebird Island" and its B-side, "Down the Trail of Achin' Hearts," reached the country Top Five. During the mid-'50s, she also performed with the teen trio 'Nita, Rita & Ruby, but spent most of her time with the Carters. The group continued to be popular on the Opry, and even opened for Elvis Presley in 1956-1957. After A.P. Carter's death in 1960, Mother Maybelle and the Carter Sisters became the Carter Family and performed more contemporary country than gospel. In 1961, the Carters began a long-running association with Johnny Cash by appearing in his road show. They recorded the country Top 15 single "Busted" with Cash in 1963, and after June Carter married him in 1967, the Carters appeared on his ABC-TV show from 1969 to 1971. Though the Carter Family continued to record -- usually with Cash -- during the early '70s, they disbanded in 1969. Mother Maybelle became recognized as a major figure in the folk revival that year, appearing with Sara at the Newport Folk Festival and on the Rounder album An Historic Reunion. Meanwhile, Anita had begun to record for RCA in 1966, hitting the country charts with "I'm Gonna Leave You." Another single charted in 1967, and her duet with Waylon Jennings on "I Got You" reached number four in March 1968. Later in 1968, Anita moved to United Artists, but several singles proved unsuccessful. She recorded for Capitol in the early '70s and almost hit the Top 40 with "Tulsa County." Her last chart appearance with the Carter Family, "Praise the Lord and Pass the Soup," was released in August 1973. The defending NBA champions dropped their sixth game in eight tries Wednesday night, falling to the Houston Rockets 89-85 on Von Wafers go-ahead 3-pointer with 44 seconds left. It was the Celtics first loss in Boston since a Nov. 14 defeat to Denver sent them on a 19-game winning streak. In our last timeout, you could see it in our guys eyes. Like, Shoot, were going to lose this home game, Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. It bothered them. You could see that. And I was thinking Thats a good thing. Yao Ming had 26 points and eight rebounds, clinching it on a putback with 12.9 seconds left to help the Rockets snap a three-game losing streak and a five-game road skid. Yao is unstoppable, said Rockets forward Ron Artest, who scored 17 points playing most of the game in foul trouble. Then, when you have shooter surrounding him, its hard to guard him. He shot right over the top. When hes playing like that, were going to be tough to beat. Paul Pierce scored 26 points, and Kevin Garnett had 18 and eight rebounds for the Celtics, who opened the defense of their 17th NBA title with victories in 27 of their first 29 games. But talk of running away with another championship has disappeared as the people in Boston?and the rest of the league?wonder whats happened. Nobody said it was going to be easy. I know, at times, we do make it look easy, Garnett said. We are a very, very confident team. I feel we have the mind-set to weather the storm. This is a big win for us, because we have a lot of respect for the Celtics. Glen Davis scored a season-high 12 for the Celtics. Houston led 62-55 early in the second half when Garnett scored on the fast break and then hit a jumper to cut it to three points. The Rockets managed just a pair of baskets, by Artest and Chuck Hayes, over the next 4 minutes while Pierce made six straight free throws and hit a 3-pointer to give Boston a 68-66 lead with 3:49 left in the third. But Boston scored just 11 points in the fourth quarter, getting just two baskets in the first 9:17?both by Gabe Pruitt. Houston led 83-81 when Artest fouled out with 3:14 left. Pierce pointed him tauntingly to the sideline, while Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck stood at his courtside seat and waved goodbye. Pierce made a jumper to tie, it then Yao missed one of two free throws and Garnett hit Rajon Rondo for a layup that gave Boston an 85-84 lead with 1:34 to play. Garnett blocked Brooks and came down with the rebound, but Boston couldnt score and after Brooks nearly lost the ball, he chased it down and dished it to Brooks for the 3. Pierce missed a jumper and Brooks grabbed the rebound over Rondo. After Carl Landry missed from in close, Yao put it in to make it 89-85. Notes Garnett moved into 26th place on the NBAs career scoring list, passing Walt Bellamy (20,941). The Celtics are 18-2 at home and 11-6 on the road.
