Descrição do Vídeo: PART THIRTEEN OF TWENTY-FOUR: This is a full live performance by the Cherry Poppin' Daddies in Sandpoint, Idaho on 8/2/2002, filmed by someone other than myself. This song is, along with 'Irish Whiskey', CPD's best song. Originally written for the Mighty Mighty BossToneS, 'Hi and Lo' was released on a split 7" with Reel Big Fish, before being rerecorded for CPD's 2007 album 'Susquehanna'. This song should have been twice as big as "The Impression That I Get" and ten times as big as "Sell Out". I find it rude to post the entire setlist on each installment in this playlist, so as folks searching for a specific song won't get 23 extra videos to sift through. Descrição do Vídeo: The Diplodicus/Eve's jig/Alabama Rick's. The first tune comes from Liz Carroll and refers to a species of Jurassic sauropod dinosaur(and yes, I know we don't play it the way Liz plays it; we tried doing some different variations than how it is normally played. This how we recorded it). The slip jig comes from fiddler James Kelly, formerly from Dublin and now resident in Miami, Florida. We recorded the first two tunes together on the "Oisre" album. The final tunes comes from our good friend Mike Dugger. He wrote for accordionist/multi-instrumentalist Rick Cunningham, who lives, yes, in Alabama. We are still working the kinks out of this set as it is another we hadn't tried in a while and we had not tried adding the last tune before. Let us know what you think! Descrição do Vídeo: adamAdam & Paul (2004)While shooting this movie, the director also had to keep shooting commercial video clips, his regular money job, because of the very low film budget. The two lead actors, Tom Murphy who plays Paul (the short one) and Mark O'Halloran who plays Adam (the tall one), were told by the local Garda ( Irish Police) to leave the set as the Garda thought they were real junkies looking to steal items from the set. The film's unit was tiny - one truck for camera, props and make-up and one minivan for the cast and crew. It takes some work to make anyone feel sorry for junkies but 'Adam and Paul' is a film that succeeds beyond any expectation. Yes, it shows the appalling lives of two junkies who have clearly been 'down so long' they have pretty much lost contact with reality, but it also makes you laugh, for even in their lives there is sometimes something amusing. It's grim and the words 'with hilarious consequences' are not going to appear in my review, but the film does show there is still some humanity in them, particularly in the scenes with their pal. Yes, their condition makes them dislikeable people who are always on the look out for money to steal and people to scam from, but we are asked to appreciate that there is a glimmer of hope: no matter how dim. A must see film, but make sure you're in an optimistic frame of mind before you go in, because 'Adam and Paul' will take its toll on the sunniest disposition.
