No Copyright Infringement Intended. ( BBC David Attenborough) Planet Earth is a 2006 television series produced by the BBC Natural History Unit. Five years in the making, it was the most expensive nature documentary series ever commissioned by the BBC. With a budget of £16 million, Planet Earth is the most expensive documentary series the BBC has ever made. "Fresh Water" Episode The fresh water programme describes the course taken by rivers and some of the species that take advantage of such a habitat. Only 3% of the world's water is fresh, yet all life on land is ultimately dependent on it. Its journey begins as a stream in the mountains, illustrated by Venezuela's Tepui, where there is a tropical downpour almost every day. It then travels hundreds of kilometres before forming rapids. With the aid of some expansive helicopter photography, one sequence demonstrates the vastness of Angel Falls, the world's highest free-flowing waterfall. Its waters drop unbroken for nearly 1000 metres (3000 feet) and are blown away as a mist before they reach the bottom. In Japan, the water is inhabited by the biggest amphibian, the two-metre long giant salamander, while in the northern hemisphere, salmon undertake the largest freshwater migration, and are hunted en route by grizzly bears. The erosive nature of rivers is shown by the Grand Canyon, created over five million years by the Colorado River. Also featured are smooth coated otters repelling mugger crocodiles and the latter's Nile ... |

This pod of 18-20 spotted dolphins visited with us for about 5-10 minutes in May 2012. Spotted dolphins are pretty infrequent in the Northwest Gulf of Mexico. We watched them feed around an oil and gas production platform, where thousands of fish were seeking food and shelter. Because of inaccurate information delivered by the media and some environmental groups, many people believe the oceans are in a "crisis" caused by humans. Humans can abuse God's creation, but as you can see in this video, an oil and gas production platform created by humans is providing shelter and food for fish, which in turn provides food for dolphins! God calls us to be wise stewards of His creation, not abusers or overprotectors (Genesis 1:28) |

You all know i am into fishtanks, but Dolphins are probably my favorite animal on earth. They are super smart, (like, they have a sense of humor smart) I shot this vidoe on the sly, it has nothing to do with fishtanks but I figured I would share. This was a pretty amazing experiance. Does anyone have any stories about how intelligent dolphins are? things they have seen or heard? |

Dolphins near sand bar at St. Marks, Sunday, May 20, 2012 About 12 dolphins came up to the popular sand bar area where boaters come out and anchor and have good time. About 45 seconds into the video a dolphin jumps. Others are spotted through-out the video. At times there is a lot of wind noise on the video, so you may want to keep the volumn low. |

What happens when you sing underwater to wild dolphins? They sing back. Listen to this wild spinner dolphin swim over and repeat the muscial call of Shawn Larkin as they swim together in the blue water pelagic of the open ocean of Osa, Costa Rica. This is true communication with dolphins. Wild dolphins do not speak English or Spanish or Russian, they speak music. This is close encounters of the third kind right here on earth, wild dolphin musical communication. Songwriting with dolphins. These dolphins that write songs with humans are under attack from nets and lines. Unlike Paul Watson, Costa Ricans really have given our own dolphins the death sentence. While everyone should be outraged at the injustice of hunting sea mammals like Paul Watson for defending his own, do all the Sea-lebrites care about the dolphins and whales that the Skipper fights for? Time to free Paul Watson and make a Pelagic Park, only then can Costa Rica begin to atone for our oceanic sins. Our dolphins need a pelagic park here in Costa Rica before it is too late. Save our Skipper and Save our Spinners. Stay tuned for much more vibes from CostaCetacea.com Copyright 2012 All Rights Reserved |
