Villagers urge him to make acquaintance with the superstar, but Billu is intimidated by his friends superstar status. He thinks that Sahil would never acknowledge his friendship with a barber. Billu strives to meet the star but is unsuccessful. Finally, he fails after lots of struggle. People suspect that Billu is fibbing in order to gain fame and start offending him. Billus family and children become apprehensive about his claim. In the end, for an invited school function, the star reveals his past. He tells the audience that in his school days he had a friend who always stood by him in his hardships. He tells how much the friend helped him by providing food when he was hungry, provided clothes when he did not having any. He tells that the friend gave him the money to join acting by selling his ancestral ear ring and that friend happens to be Billo. Descrição do Vídeo: Last week we brought you, as promised, Red Hot Riding Hood (1943). And, if you liked that one (which your loud applause indicated you did) you'll be happy to know that we have more of those-- the Wolf, Red-- even Grandma will be back. But this week, we're presenting a mind-boggling work of our favorite all-time animation director, Bob Clampett (1913-1984). The film: the outstanding Warner Bros. short, Book Revue (1945). In 1994 it was voted #45 of The 50 Greatest Cartoons of all time by members of the animation field. At first Book Revue seems to be one of those pedestrian cartoons wherein "after Midnight, books in a bookstore come to life" of the type that frequently appeared under the Merrie Melodies banner (such as 1938's Have You Got any Castles). But it quickly spins wildly out of control from this sedate premise in true Clampett style as a manic Daffy Duck (Clampett's Daffy, not Chuck Jones's Duck) enters and takes over. The cartoon is loaded with puns and pop-culture references, even by Warner standards. After this lampoon, Warner never issued another cartoon of that genre. Like all Clampett cartoons, Book Revue (later released as Book Review, spoiling the pun), has run into censorship problems in this over-protective, social-engineered age. For example, Daffy's line about "La Cucharacha," "So round, so firm, so fully packed, so easy on the draw" is often cut by the crowd of PC Nervous Nellies (possibly because of its sexual innuendo), though this line is actually one of the taglines for Lucky Strike cigarettes. Actually, the same people don't want you to mention the cigarettes, either. Oh, well-- forget them-- we are, as always, taking pains to give you the whole thing, complete and uncut. So join us this Wednesday night, won't you? --in time to catch up with yet another treasure of your Nation's once flourishing but now (that the Conspiracy has dumbed it all down) mostly vanished popular culture. Descrição do Vídeo: Kevin Griffin, Vancouver Sun Published: Monday, September 22, 2008 METRO VANCOUVER - One of the biggest challenges of recording more than 100 anthems for the 2010 Winter Olympics is finding each one's emotional core, conductor Bramwell Tovey said Monday at the Bell Performing Arts Centre in Surrey. "We have to rummage around and try and get inside each one," Tovey told the media prior to a recording session that included O Canada. "It's just the same as digging inside Beethoven - of trying to find what the core of Beethoven is all about. With each national anthem we have to discover what the core is." Over three days ending today, Tovey conducted 73 musicians in the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra for a recording session organized by Vanoc, the organizing committee for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. Although about 85 countries are expected to compete in 2010, Vanoc was recording anthems for all countries with Winter Olympic organizing committees in case more attend. If approved next spring by the various Winter Olympic organizing committees, the versions recorded by VSO will be played during the gold medal presentations and when the national Olympic delegations arrive at the Olympic Village. They're all instrumental and contain no lyrics. Under Tovey, the VSO has won its first Grammy and Juno awards. Playing an anthem isn't as simple as just following the notes. Anthems for countries such as Madagascar and Ethiopia required new arrangements for a full orchestra. The Spanish anthem was marked on the score to be played at a pulse of almost one a second - yet the Spanish government's website said it should be played at two pulses a second. "I feel a little bit like a one-man United Nations," he said. "The biggest worry is that you're going to play an anthem and you're not going to please the country where the anthem come from." Tovey praised the Brazilian national anthem, comparing it to a sparkling overture by Gioachino Rossini. Tovey said he wasn't concerned about playing the U.S. national anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner. The version played during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens wasn't considered stirring enough by some Americans. "I conduct the Los Angeles Philharmonic as the principal guest conductor at the Hollywood Bowl and every single concert at the Hollywood Bowl begins with The Star-Spangled Banner," he said. "So I'm used to doing that." But the first time he conducted the LA Philharmonic, he got a quick education about how patriotic Americans are about their anthem. "I asked the orchestra if we could rehearse it," said Tovey. "They actually stood to rehearse it, which I found astonishing. Certainly in Canada, we don't stand to rehearse the national anthem - we stand for the actual event.
